The Madeleine Sanam Foundation is officially launching For Hope and Understanding, A Benefit Concert against HIV/AIDS August 13th at 7:00 PM at the Convocation Hall of University of Alberta The fight against HIV/ AIDS concert is the second of a series of concerts that the Foundation will hold over the year. The headliner for this event will be an emerging young South-African singer Nomfusi and her band the Lucky Charms. Sadly, in 1998, Nomfusi lost her mother to AIDS at only 12 years old in 1998. Nomfusi has empowered herself and overcome the many obstacles that have blocked her path. Through her courage and determination, Nomfusi has become a well-known young artist in South Africa, playing at the FIFA 2010 World Cup in Cape-Town. Nomfusi has emerged from personal life drama to become successful musician. She is a dynamic and energetic young artist who symbolizes many of the values of the Madeleine-Sanam. The Chakratic Method, a local band who puts a modern twist on traditional world music, will be opening for Nomfusi.
